The Sterile Processing Tech position involves working in a surgical services environment. The shift is during the day, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The average daily tray volume is approximately 700. There are around 72 operating rooms in the facility. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and a valid certification. First-time travelers will be considered if they have Trauma I experience and at least 2 years of experience. Weekends are not required for this position. National certifications are required in either CBSPD or CRCST. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is not required. Experience with CensiTrac instrument tracking is strongly preferred. Familiarity with Belimed washers and sterilizers is also advantageous. This role does not require on-call duties. The candidate will float within the facility as needed. Floating to sister facilities is not required. Block schedule accommodations are not available. Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are not accepted. There are no restrictions on requested time off, but it must not exceed 7 days. Attendance issues during the contract period may impact employment status. Traveler should adhere to hospital policies regarding personal electronic devices during shifts. The facility is classified as a short-term acute care teaching institution with a total of 1,259 staffed beds. Interdisciplinary support is available for various patient diagnoses. The surgical services include trauma, cardiac, neuro, ortho, ENT, vascular, transplant, and robotics. Candidates should possess skills in aseptic technique and sterilization procedures among other related tasks. All responsibilities are expected to be performed in compliance with hospital standards and protocols.
