CLINICAL COUNSELOR – NORTH KERN STATE PRISON (NKSP)

Overview North Kern State Prison (NKSP) is seeking a Clinical Counselor to work under the direction of the Senior Psychologist (Supervisor) / Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I. Responsibilities • Provide counseling interventions and psychotherapeutic techniques to incarcerated individuals in order to improve mental health and promote wellness skills.

• Work preventatively with the incarcerated population, including those not currently in the mental health delivery system, to offer outreach and prevention wellness strategies.
• Apply counseling interventions and psychotherapeutic techniques within the scope of applicable Business and Professions Code(s) and licenses.

Minimum Qualifications Possession of a current, valid license as a Clinical Counselor in California. Desirable Qualifications Valid Associate Professional Clinical Counselor license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science. Salary & Location Salary Range: $7,294.00 – $10,378.00 per month. Classification: 12‑Month Limited Term – Full Time.
