We are in search of a committed Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician to enhance our OBGYN team. The MFM team at our organization specializes in caring for pregnant individuals classified as moderate to high risk, guiding them from pre-conception through the post-partum phase. Our physicians offer consultations to colleagues across our network, including advanced practice providers like Certified Nurse Midwives and Nurse Practitioners, as well as generalist OB/GYN and Family Medicine practitioners.

Our organization serves the underserved communities within the city and county of Denver, primarily focusing on patients who are government-insured and face medical and social complexities. With around 4,000 births each year, the Department provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic services. Approximately half of these patients receive care in our OB/GYN clinics, staffed by OB/GYN physicians and advanced practice providers (CNMs and NPs), while the remainder are treated in community clinics by Family Medicine providers.

As a teaching affiliate of a prominent medical campus, we are deeply invested in training the next generation of healthcare professionals. Faculty members in the OB/GYN Department actively engage in educating residents and medical students, contributing both clinically and in educational settings. Additionally, our physicians hold academic positions through the affiliated medical school.

The MFM Physician is essential in directing and coordinating care for moderate and high-risk patients while also participating in the broader obstetric services at our organization. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Leading and supervising High-Risk and Diabetic OB Clinics

• Interpreting obstetric ultrasounds and consulting on abnormal findings

• Collaborating with genetic counselors

• Conducting specialized obstetric procedures, such as amniocentesis and cervical cerclage

• Participating in multidisciplinary care conferences for complex cases

• Providing inpatient consultations for critically ill and high-risk OB patients

• Offering expert consultations for outpatient high-risk patients

Essential Functions:

• Gather, document, and maintain patient information, including medical histories, reports, or examination results (20%)

• Provide care and treatment for patients with high-risk pregnancies (60%)

• Perform specialized obstetrical procedures (5%)

• Engage in or support educational and research initiatives (10%)

Education:

• Doctorate Degree from an accredited medical school is required

• Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology, ABOG certified is required

• Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate Program in Maternal Fetal Medicine, ABOG board-eligible or certified is required

Work Experience:

• 1-3 years of directly related experience is preferred

Licenses:

• OBGYN-Obstetrics and Gynecology Certification from the American Academy of Family Physicians is required

• MD-Physician certification from the State Medical Board is required

• BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association is required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Understanding and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.

• Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacological agents utilized in patient treatment.

• Capable of effectively managing and directing medical staff support activities while ensuring quality medical care.

• Able to receive detailed information through oral communication and express or exchange ideas verbally.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.

• Skilled in interacting effectively with individuals from diverse educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds, as well as varying skill levels and value systems.
