About the Position

First-time travelers are accepted. Description: The unit serves a diverse patient population, ranging from adolescents to geriatrics. The position requires significant skills in a medical surgical unit with remote telemetry and potential diagnoses. Nurses will manage a patient ratio of 1:6 in a 38-bed unit, with an average daily census of 33. Experience with the Epic charting system is required. Staffing and scheduling are self-managed. Floating may occur within similar units as necessary. The nurse will need to work every other weekend and one major holiday during the assignment period. Compliance to onboarding and paperwork is mandatory to start employment. All requests for time off must be finalized prior to submission. The unit collaborates with various interdisciplinary support teams, including physical therapy and rapid response teams. Candidates should be proficient in using rapid response and code teams, peripheral line care, and oxygen management. Isolation precautions and personal protective equipment protocols must be followed.
