Nuclear Medicine Technologist

$68 - $72 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment in Texas . The ideal candidate will have expertise in performing nuclear medicine imaging procedures, evaluating organ function, and producing high-quality diagnostic images to support accurate patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a fast-paced hospital environment. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a fast-paced hospital environment. Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Location: Houston, TX, 77024 Shift: Days Pay: $68-72/hr Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a hospital imaging department. The successful candidate will perform a variety of nuclear medicine procedures to evaluate organ function and diagnose disease, while ensuring patient safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality imaging standards. The technologist will also assist with process improvement initiatives and collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to provide exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures according to physician orders and established protocols. Prepare, administer, and monitor radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately. Acquire high-quality diagnostic images to evaluate organ function and disease processes. Verify patient identity, review medical history, and explain imaging procedures. Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond appropriately to any adverse reactions. Maintain accurate documentation and imaging records within the electronic medical record system. Ensure compliance with radiation safety, infection control, and departmental policies. Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance issues as needed. Assist with quality improvement initiatives and support departmental operational efficiency. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Required Qualifications Current Texas Medical Board (MRT) license or temporary Texas MRT license. ARRT (N) certification or NMTCB certification required. Previous hospital Nuclear Medicine experience preferred. Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, radiopharmaceutical handling, and radiation safety. Excellent communication, technical, and patient care skills.
