Assistant Director of Financial Aid

Job Title and Location Assistant Director of Financial Aid Atlanta Metropolitan State College Job Summary The Assistant Director of Financial Aid reports to the Director of Financial Aid. Responsibilities include managing on site staff, handling system issues with Ellucian, setting up aid year, handling confidential information, and processing ISIRS. The position consults the supervisor for policy clarification where needed. Responsibilities Run daily and weekly reports for institutional and federal aid including application, eligibility, verification, originations, disbursements, and timely release of federal funds. Provide technical support for financial aid systems, including application and correction record load processes, transmission of applications, Pell Grant originations and disbursements, and transfer monitoring. Maintain system tests for Banner and other financial aid platforms. Oversee daily production schedules of system jobs, workflow, application, awarding, and disbursement of federal, state, and institutional aid funds. Work with staff and faculty to educate, improve, and complete financial aid and related enrollment and retention services. Supervise the financial aid application record load system, batch processing, letter generation, and award of student financial aid. Maintain monitoring systems for federal satisfactory academic progress standards and for meeting federal, state, and institutional policies. Protect confidentiality of student financial information in accordance with FERPA. Assist the Director in ensuring exception‑free financial aid audits and program reviews by staying current on applicable laws and regulations. Recommend and participate in developing financial aid policies and procedures; may serve on planning and policy‑making committees. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Minimum of four (4) years experience in a relevant role Preferred Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years in higher education administration, including at least four (4) years in financial aid administration. Salary $66,000 – $71,500 annually Abilities Ability to interpret and explain complex regulations and policies to a diverse audience.
