This role is responsible for performing MIG and TIG welding, reading blueprints, and ensuring all weldments meet quality and production requirements.Job DutiesWeld metal parts using MIG and TIG welding processes.Perform vertical and overhead welds.Read and interpret blueprints, weld prints, welding procedures, and specifications.Lay out and position workpieces using jigs, fixtures, and clamps before tack welding.Verify that completed weldments meet print and measurement requirements.Set up welding equipment according to job specifications.Pay$20-25/hourly experienced base paySchedule: 1st & 2nd shiftMonday – Friday7:00 AM - 3:00 PM3:30 PM – 11:30 PMWelder RequirementsEducation & Experience Associate degree from a 2-year college or technical school OR6 months to 1 year of related welding experience ORAn equivalent combination of education and experience.Skills & Knowledge Ability to read and understand: Safety rulesOperating and maintenance manualsSimple instructions and correspondenceBlueprints, weld prints, welding procedures, and welding specificationsAbility to write simple correspondence.Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.Ability to use: Tape measuresWelding equipmentWeld measuring devices for checking weld sizesBasic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).Physical Requirements Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and reaching.Regular lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds.Good vision, including: Close and distance visionColor visionDepth perceptionBenefits offered by Verstela to Temp-to-Hire employees:MedicalDentalVisionShort Term DisabilityTerm Life and AD&DIdentity Theft ProtectionPrescription Plan401(K) Retirement Savings PlanLocation: Monticello, Indiana
