Systems Administrator

This balance ensures our firm and our clients are always well positioned for whatever lies ahead. We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join our internal team. The Systems Administrator will report to the IT Manager and is responsible for managing and maintaining our on-premise IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft 365 and proven experience in system administration. This role is required to be in-office a minimum of 4 days per week with option for hybrid in the future. Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and related systems. Manage and administer Microsoft 365 Business environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune and security settings. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability. Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions. Apply security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational policies. Collaborate with IT team to support end-users and resolve technical issues promptly. Utilize ticketing system to manage and track IT support requests (primarily Tier 2 but Tier 1 as needed). Document system configurations, processes, and procedures. Work collaboratively with Managed Service Provider (MSP) on projects and ongoing support activities. Qualifications and Skills Minimum 5 years ofexperience in systems administration or related IT roles. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 tenant administration. Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and networking fundamentals. Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus. Familiarity with cybersecurity protocols and compliance standards. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Strong communication and documentation skills. Preferred Skills Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation. Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure preferred). Understanding of ITIL practices.
