Job Type Full-time Position Overview We are looking for a Payroll Consultant with customer service experience and technical skills to assist new clients’ transition to their new payroll and human resources provider, Paylocity. This entry‑level opportunity is ideal for someone with strong computer skills, attention to detail, multitasking ability, and a passion for exceptional customer service. In-Office: This is a 100% in‑office role based at our Schaumburg, IL location. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position. Candidates must be able to work on‑site five days per week during designated work hours. This role is responsible for supporting client implementations with a strong focus on data migration, validation, and test payroll execution. The consultant collaborates closely with Sales, Data Conversion, Implementation, and Managed Services teams to ensure successful project outcomes and identify opportunities for additional services. The consultant plays a key role in onboarding client data, driving projects to completion, and ensuring go‑live dates are met. Primary Responsibilities To perform the essential functions. Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data manipulation, and analysis Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment Demonstrate organizational and time management abilities Excellent decision‑making, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail A solid understanding of payroll compliance at the federal, state, and local levels Ability to communicate clearly with clients and provide excellent customer service Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7‑8 hours a day. Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously. Compensation and Benefits The pay for this position is $22–24/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
