Software Engineer - Python, Databricks, ETL

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in data engineering concepts and at least 2 years of applied experience
• Experience with modern lakehouse platforms, including Databricks
• Experience with Python, PySpark, AWS, Databricks, generative or agentic AI, MCP, Elasticsearch, and REST APIs
• Proficiency in SQL coding, including joins and aggregations, and RDBMS skills
• Working understanding of SQL databases
• Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and datasets, using tools such as Glue or Databricks ETL
• Experience developing ETL processes and workflows for streaming data from heterogeneous sources
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for tasks such as coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation, and the ability to evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
• Experience building AWS pipelines with Terraform and using CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of RDBMS platforms such as Aurora
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Airflow

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes for data integration and analytics
• Use SQL regularly and apply an understanding of NoSQL databases and their uses
• Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assistants to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity; validate their outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding practices
• Support data modernization using cloud solutions and optimize data processing workflows
• Apply software development lifecycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value of automation
• Extract data and implement complex transformations to meet business requirements
• Ensure data is available and accurate for analytics; apply data engineering best practices and monitor data quality, reliability, and performance
• Identify opportunities to automate data engineering processes
• Implement data orchestration and workflow automation using AWS Step Functions and EventBridge
• Use Terraform to provision and manage robust, scalable data infrastructure
• Design, develop, and technically troubleshoot software and data components within technical products, applications, or systems
• Collaborate in an agile team to enhance, design, and deliver secure, stable, and scalable software components
