Outpatient Occupational Therapist OR Physical Therapist | Lymphedema

Location: Avera Therapy‑Plaza 5, Sioux Falls, SD. Worker Type: Regular. Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America). Pay Range: $30.75 – $53.75 (actual pay rate dependent upon experience). Position Highlights THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN SIOUX FALLS, SD. Pay: Physical Therapist: $39.05‑$59.12 Occupational Therapist: $33.83‑$50.87 This position will accept either a SD licensed Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist with lymphedema experience greatly preferred. AVERA WILL COVER COSTS TO BECOME LYMPHEDEMA CERTIFIED. $15,000 sign‑on bonus eligible with a 3‑year commitment. Student Loan Repayment: This position may be eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program, which helps you pay off your loans and save money. Each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will help pay down your principal balance faster. A Brief Overview Responsible for the daily coordination and delivery of physical therapy services implementing specific treatment program for individual patients and patient groups according to the principles and practices of physical therapy and established objectives of the department. What You Will Do Evaluate assigned patients, gathering data from a variety of sources such as patient records, interviews, observation, and team members. Develop and implement individualized treatment programs for patients needing services. Use selected activities and/or tasks to promote and maintain health, and to achieve treatment goals, establishing and modifying intervention and strategies for patients’ treatment program based on ongoing evaluation. Provide direct therapy services to patients using various functional settings and strategies, planning therapy within the patient’s individual physical, emotional and intellectual capabilities as indicated and coordinated with the rehabilitation, medical, and nursing care plans. Prepare documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress notes, and other reports. Communicate effectively with the patient, family, physician, and other disciplinary team members regarding the patient’s status, progress and needs. Establish rapport and work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team members (including family/physician) throughout the patient’s intervention program. Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in‑service meetings, workshops, etc. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Physical Therapist – Active license in the state of practice. Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience 1‑3 years experience as a licensed physical therapist.
