This role plays a key part in producing precision aerospace components while helping maintain the quality, consistency, and craftsmanship that Midwest Aircraft has built its reputation on for more than 25 years. The Work You’ll Be Doing In this role, you will: Set up and operate CNC lathes to manufacture precision aerospace components Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications Program and edit CNC lathe programs using G-code Select tooling, establish offsets, and verify workholding setups Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and gauges Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize production processes Perform routine machine maintenance and preventative care Work closely with fellow machinists and quality personnel to meet production schedules Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment Machines, Controls & Software You'll work with equipment such as: CNC Lathes Doosan Puma 300LC Doosan Lynx Turning Center Doosan 240 Okuma Crown L1060 Okuma Captain L370 Additional Shop Equipment Haas VF-5 Haas VF-2YT Doosan DNM 5-Axis Machining Center Agie Charmilles Wire EDM Femco Horizontal Boring Mill Software Mastercam Fusion AutoCAD FeatureCAM Inspection Equipment Zeiss Contura CMM Faro Gage Optical Comparator Precision Measuring Instruments Materials You'll Work With Aluminum Stainless Steel Alloy Steels Aerospace Materials What We're Looking For Required 10+ years of CNC lathe machining experience Strong CNC setup, programming, and machine operation skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Experience using precision inspection equipment Strong understanding of tooling, offsets, and machining processes Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability High attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Aerospace manufacturing experience Experience in highly regulated industries CNC machining certification or technical training CAD/CAM software experience Experience programming CNC lathes Multi-axis machining experience Pay, Benefits & Schedule Pay Range $35 – $45 per hour (DOE) Benefits Medical Insurance (Eligible Day 1) Dental Insurance (Eligible Day 1) Vision Insurance (Eligible Day 1) HMO, PPO, HSA, and FSA Plan Options 401(k) Eligibility After 90 Days Company-Paid Life Insurance Generous PTO Program Paid Holidays Schedule 1st Shift Monday–Thursday 4:00 AM–2:30 PM Four 10-hour shifts (4x10 schedule) Overtime opportunities available on Fridays #J-18808-Ljbffr Midwest Aircraft Machine and Tool Company
