JBAB Desktop Support Technician

Desktop Support Technician Leidos is offering a Desktop Support Technician position at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. The role supports information systems for various Air Force components, ensuring 24/7 operational readiness across a 300-mile radius. Primary Tasks Lead and mentor team members at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, resolving IT hardware and software issues within a Windows 11 environment. Deliver high-quality customer service, train subordinates, and ensure adherence to best practices. Adhere to schedules, performance metrics, and documentation, meeting service level agreements and optimizing workflow efficiency. Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues, coordinating end-users and cross-functional teams. Manage moderately complex projects and assignments independently. Evaluate system configurations and software. Coordinate with the Communication Focal Point Manager for outages or issues beyond typical desktop problems. Utilize IT Service Management tools Remedy and ServiceNow. Use Remote Desktop, BEL Manage, and Bomgar. Maintain a self-motivated, proactive, technical stance and make quick, sound decisions. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of relevant experience. DoD-8140 IAT Advanced baseline certification (Security+ CE or higher). 5+ years of advanced experience in Desktop Support. Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware and software issues within a Windows 11 environment, including system configurations, security protocols, and performance optimization. Current DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher. Preferred Qualifications Military experience and comfort working with Senior Military Leaders in a fast-paced environment. Associate’s degree in Information Technology or a related field. Familiarity with Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, the 794th Communications Squadron, the 844th Communications Group, and the 11th Wing.
