Jon & Vinny’s is a fast-paced, high-volume, all-day restaurant serving several Los Angeles communities 7 days a week. What you’ll do

The Server position will be responsible for the following: 

• Able to thoughtfully describe all menu items and be aware of available modifications and possible allergens in each dish while using this knowledge to provide suggestions to guests. All servers will be tested during training for food knowledge and must pass with a 90% minimum. 
• Have a working knowledge of wine in general and be able to concisely and accurately describe all wines by the glass and at least 5 bottles in Helen’s. All servers will be tested daily and monthly and must attend mandatory wine classes.
• Acknowledge and learn names of regulars, our neighbors, and friends of the restaurant.
• Hit all steps of service as outlined in the training packet with every party in the dining room. Guiding everyone in the restaurant through a consistent, friendly, and hospitable experience.
• Ring in all food and beverage accurately, making sure all checks presented are accurate and graciously collect payment.
• Respect everyone in the building - maintain cleanliness, acknowledge all employees, use respectful language, dress appropriately and work with everyone else in the building to be helpful. Maintaining a positive attitude is important every day.
• Show up ready to work. Attire should be clean and wrinkle-free and have on their person during their shift a sharpie, a wine opener, a lighter and a server book.
• Respect the facility - pick up trash, clean up after yourself, take the initiative to clean, finish your sidework, let managers know if anything is in disrepair.
• Run food or drinks, assist in pre-bussing tables, sweep floors, help teammates in the FOH or BOH, be present and aware in order to assist with any spills or special requests.
• Know your schedule and show up to work on-time. Awareness and self-management with break times and clock out times is crucial to the success of each shift.
