Job Details Setting: Acute Medical-Surgical unit Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse Location: Peoria, Illinois Start Date: September 14, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Schedule: 12-hour night shifts Hours: 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: Rotating every other holiday Charting System: EPIC Job Requirements Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN or acute care RN experience Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated Current BLS certification Strong post-op nursing experience and sound clinical judgment Excellent critical thinking skills with a team-first mindset Ability to provide compassionate bedside nursing care and ask for assistance when needed Willingness to work nights, every other weekend, and rotating holidays Comfortable floating to similar-level units as needed Responsibilities Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to post-op surgical, trauma, overflow medical, and complex acute care patients Perform dressing changes, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, and management of drains and NG tubes Monitor patients with central lines and TPN while maintaining strong clinical awareness Collaborate closely with charge nurses, house supervisors, PCTs, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team Support patient care across a 63-bed surgical acute environment with varied acuity Assist with telemetry patients as needed, following unit workflow and established procedures Deliver excellent communication, professionalism, and teamwork throughout each shift Float to appropriate units when needed based on experience and staffing needs Apply now for this Med/Surg travel RN opportunity in Peoria, Illinois, and join a supportive acute care healthcare team today.
