This role assists patients to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include patient relations, check-in and check-out, scheduling, insurance verification, and answering phones. Essential Functions Of The Role Assist patients with relations, check-in, check-out, scheduling, insurance verification, and answering phones. Arrange follow-up visits and referral appointments. Assist with patient registration by collecting and verifying insurance information. Verify patient demographics and enter changes into the computer system. Direct patients to appropriate waiting areas. Accept payments for physician/clinic services according to established guidelines. Post payments and enter charges into computer using appropriate codes. Generate daily payment reports and verify cash drawer against report. Provide accurate patient, medical, financial or procedural information to patients or approved outside entities. May discuss financial arrangements with patients. Receive and direct phone calls. Assist patients and other visitors. Respond to routine inquiries concerning practice services, hours of operation, etc. Ensure any patient complaints are handled appropriately. Assist with medical records duties as requested. Excellent data entry and computer navigation skills, with attention to detail. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly changing and stressful environment.
