Family Medicine Doctor
Centra is actively seeking Family Medicine Doctors for our growing Primary Care Centers. We are seeking candidates with an MD/DO distinction, and who are board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine. CMG operates 13 primary care practices, bringing a full range of health and wellness services to Central Virginia families.

Smith Mountain Lake and downtown Moneta offers special events, historic attractions, five championship golf courses and two national monuments on the 22,000 acres of water and the 500 miles of shoreline. Not only is the lake home to a variety of activities, historical landmarks and cultural opportunities, but the surrounding areas of Bedford, Lynchburg and Roanoke offer even more for visitors.
Centra Medical Group (CMG) is a comprehensive network of nearly 600 employed providers within Centra Health. Centra Health services a population of 600,000 community members with 70 different outpatient and specialty practices. Centra offers primary care and specialty services across Central and Southern Virginia—from Lynchburg to Danville, Farmville, Moneta, and Bedford. CMG includes family practices, specialists, and surgeons in fields such as cardiology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, urology, and more.
CMG is also home to the Lynchburg Family Medicine Residency, a training program for future family physicians, many of whom hold academic appointments with institutions like UVA, VCU, VCOM, and Liberty University.
Responsibilities:
- Patient volume of 18 patients/day
- Supported by a collaborative care team, including dedicated APPs.
Qualifications:
- Completion of medical degree and residency training in Family Medicine.
- MD/DO with certification by an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) board in physician's primary specialty. Must be board certified or in the process of certifying.
