Job Summary Works with the production manager in the coordination and scheduling of workflow within or between plant functional areas to expedite production while producing a superior product. Job Responsibilities Lead daily production and maintenance activities to meet safety, quality, and operational targets Set up and operate machinery Plan and support preventative maintenance, including shutdown preparation Coordinate and work with the manager and workers for timely production of all jobs, maintenance of normal inventory, and development of new products Prepare and distribute required daily reporting Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow Oversee inspection of products to verify conformance to specifications and direct setup and adjustments of machines; estimate, requisition, and inspect materials and supplies Interpret company policies for workers and enforce safety regulations Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances Authorize time and production records for direct reports Examine defective machinery to determine cause of the malfunction and perform repairs or refer to maintenance crew Inspect work in progress and finished product Enforce safety regulations Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of equipment Analyze and resolve work problems Maintain time and production records Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed This position may have direct reports as specified by organizational hierarchy and shift specifications and will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations' policies and applicable laws.
