This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with senior leadership on complex real estate investment opportunities and sophisticated financial modeling in one of the most competitive commercial real estate markets in the country. The Senior Real Estate Investment Analyst will lead financial analysis and underwriting for the team's active deal pipeline across a wide range of commercial real estate investment opportunities and will be responsible for producing institutional-quality financial models and valuation analyses that support pricing strategy, client advisory, marketing initiatives, and high-value transaction execution. This position is supporting an agent team.The hourly range for this role is $30.00– $40.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined by factors such as education, experience, and job-related skills relevant to the role. These ranges may not reflect potential compensation for positions based in other states or regions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead financial underwriting and investment analysis across all properties within the team's deal pipeline, including cash flow modeling, IRR analysis, cap rate analysis, comparable sales analysis, owner-user analysis, land residual analysis, and sensitivity analysis.Review and analyze property financial statements, leases, and supporting documentation to determine appropriate underwriting assumptions, modeling approach, scope of analysis, and timing of financial deliverables.Build and maintain sophisticated financial models for single and multi-tenant retail, office, mixed-use, and redevelopment opportunities.Analyze comparable sales, lease data, market trends, and pricing dynamics across Southern California to support valuation and underwriting assumptions.Organize and present analytical findings, draw objective conclusions, and recommend appropriate modeling parameters and assumptions.Prepare investment memorandums, marketing copy, financial analyses, and investor presentation materials.Maintain underwriting consistency and quality control across all financial deliverables.Qualifications:3–7+ years of experience in commercial real estate financial analysisAdvanced proficiency in Excel financial modeling, Argus, and CoStarStrong understanding of real estate valuation metrics, including IRR, NPV, cap rates, and DSCRExperience analyzing retail, office, mixed-use, and land development opportunitiesAbility to interpret property financial statements, leases, and market data to support investment underwriting and valuation analysisExceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneouslyStrong communication, writing, and presentation skillsAbility to work under tight deadlines and complete projects on time with accuracyStrong understanding of zoning regulations and municipal ordinances to support financial modeling for development sites and detailed land residual analysisSelf-motivated, team-oriented and capable of handling several tasks simultaneously.Why Join Our TeamWork on high-profile commercial real estate opportunities across Southern CaliforniaDirect exposure to sophisticated private investors, family offices, and institutional capitalJoin one of Marcus & Millichap's top-producing investment sales teamsHighly entrepreneurial, performance-driven environment with significant opportunity for professional growthCompetitive compensation and performance-based incentivesAt Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation, we strive to be the best place to work and to be the best commercial real estate financial intermediary.
