Job DescriptionWe are seeking an associate attorney with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and interest in insurance subrogation and construction matters to join our Los Angeles office.Our firm is well known for representing property insurers in complex litigation throughout the United States, including mass torts, wildfires, construction and design defect claims, product liability, catastrophic losses, and general negligence matters.This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking early, hands-on experience in all stages of litigation, including direct client interaction, depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial. Our firm offers the support of a collaborative, experienced team and the chance to build a meaningful career in high-stakes litigation.Objectives of this roleManage cases from investigation to resolutionServe as point-of-contact for clients and collaborate with experts and other witnessesDevelop persuasive arguments and present them effectively in court and negotiationTake ownership of projects and balance multiple active matters in a fast-paced practiceServe as first chair for your own cases and second chair for the litigation team handling large casesGrow your experience through substantive litigation work and mentorshipResponsibilitiesCollaborate with experts and other witnesses to evaluate claims and build strong liability theoriesParticipate in case strategy and maintain direct communication with clientsEngage in settlement negotiations and mediationsPrepare pleadings, conduct legal research, and engage in all aspects of motion practiceDraft and respond to written discovery and take and defend depositionsAppear in court for conferences, hearings, and trialsRequired skills and qualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolLicensed to practice law in Los AngelesTwo to four years of litigation experience (civil, insurance, or construction preferred)Excellent legal writing and research skillsExcellent command of details and an ability to work efficiently and meet deadlinesProfessional demeanor with strong organizational and communication skillsPreferred skills and qualificationsExperience with insurance subrogation or property-related claimsFamiliarity with ProLaw or similar legal practice management softwareDemonstrated interest in construction, product liability, or fire litigationAbility to craft a compelling narrative to support persuasive questioning and advocacyAbout UsAt our firm, you'll join a national litigation practice with a reputation for excellence in subrogation and catastrophic loss claims.
