Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.Job Description:The Vice President of Alternative Investments Risk Management is a senior leadership role responsible for establishing, enhancing, and overseeing the risk management framework across a broad range of alternative investment strategies. This leader will manage a team of risk professionals and partner closely with investment, product, treasury, finance, operations, and technology leaders to provide independent risk oversight, analytics, and strategic guidance.The role supports a diverse portfolio of liquid and illiquid alternative investments, including hedge funds and liquid alternatives, private equity, private credit, venture capital, structured credit, real estate, digital assets, and derivative-based strategies. The successful candidate will leverage advanced analytics, stress testing, scenario analysis, and emerging technologies to assess portfolio risks, identify emerging issues, strengthen decision-making, and support strategic business initiatives.The Expertise and Skills You BringBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline; advanced degree and/or CFA, CAIA, FRM, or similar designation preferred15+ years of experience in investment risk management, quantitative analytics, alternative investments, or related disciplines, including leadership experienceExpertise across alternative investment strategies, including hedge funds, private equity, private credit, venture capital, structured credit, real estate, digital assets, and derivativesDeep understanding of market, credit, liquidity, valuation, operational, concentration, and counterparty risksExperience evaluating portfolio exposures, leverage, liquidity, factor sensitivities, private asset valuations, and tail-risk scenariosStrong knowledge of risk methodologies, including stress testing, scenario analysis, factor analysis, liquidity assessment, and portfolio risk modelingExperience developing and enhancing risk frameworks, governance processes, reporting, controls, and risk oversight programsFamiliarity with platforms such as Aladdin, MSCI RiskManager, BarraOne, Bloomberg, S&P Global, Intex, or similar risk and analytics toolsStrong technical and analytical capabilities, including Python, SQL, data visualization tools, and large financial datasetsAbility to communicate complex risk concepts and influence investment professionals, executives, and governance committeesProven ability to lead high-performing teams, build strong cross-functional partnerships, and drive strategic initiatives across investments, finance, operations, treasury, and technologyIntellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and a passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and talent developmentOwnership and ongoing enhancement of the risk management frameworkIdentification and oversight of emerging and tail risk exposuresSupport for strategic initiatives, new product development, and business growth opportunitiesPartnership with data science and technology teams to advance risk analytics, infrastructure, and modernization effortsData quality, model governance, and control framework responsibilitiesThe TeamThis team is a part of Fidelity Investment’s Enterprise, Legal, Risk and Compliance group delivering independent investment risk insights and analytics focused upon Alternative Investments to the Asset Management team.Fidelity’s Onsite Working ModelFidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues.
