Role Description

Maverc Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Database & Cloud Systems Engineer to support our client through a 12-month contract engagement with strong potential for full-time hire. This role sits at the intersection of data infrastructure, Microsoft Azure (GCC High), cloud compliance, and financial operations, supporting a business environment led by a finance organization with deep public company and audit experience. The selected candidate will work closely with leadership, including the VP of Finance, and must clearly articulate how their technical work supports:

Financial accuracy and reporting integrity
Operational efficiency
Risk reduction and compliance

This is a high-visibility, client-facing role where success depends equally on technical expertise and executive communication.

Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with:
- Oracle Database Administration
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Microsoft Azure (including GCC High environments)
Experience deploying and supporting database workloads in Azure
Expertise in:
- Database performance tuning
- High availability and disaster recovery
- Secure database architecture in regulated environments
Experience supporting regulated or government cloud environments (GCC High preferred)
Strong familiarity with:
- Azure architecture and services (IaaS, PaaS, networking, storage)
- FedRAMP, NIST 800-171, or CMMC frameworks
Understanding of environments subject to audit, compliance, or SOX-related controls
5+ years of experience in database administration, cloud engineering, or related roles
Experience supporting financial systems, ERP platforms, or accounting/reporting environments preferred

Requirements

Integrate databases with financial systems, reporting platforms, and ERP environments
Support data accuracy, reporting workflows, and audit-readiness
Assist in maintaining systems that support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
