Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant

Locums - Hancock, Michigan, NP/PA Emergency Medicine Job

Coverage Dates August 21-25, 2026September 7-9, 2026September 21-24, 2026Ongoing coverage opportunities available

Schedule 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM shiftsScheduled shifts onlyNo call requiredCoverage needed 7 days per week

Orientation One-day onsite orientation required prior to the first scheduled Emergency Department shift

Practice Setting Hospital-based Emergency DepartmentInpatient and Outpatient careReason for coverage: Time off, vacations, and scheduling needs

Patient Volume Average of 36 patients per dayApproximately 3 admissions per shift

Patient Population Must be able to treat patients of all ages

Support Staff Emergency Medicine PhysiciansEmergency Department Registered Nurses

Facility Information Trauma Level III

Common Procedures Nail trephinationSimple and complex suturingStaple placementEpistaxis management (cautery and Rhino Rocket)Tick removalForeign body removal (ear and eye)Incision and drainage of abscessesDigital nerve blocksSkin tear repairDental blocksIntraocular pressure (IOP) checksFluorescein staining of the eyeFinger and other joint reductionsOrthoglass splint applicationBursa aspiration

Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant requiredActive Michigan license requiredActive Michigan DEA requiredActive BLS certification requiredAbility to treat patients of all ages required

Credentialing Approximately 30 days, or as quickly as the provider submits all required documentationTemporary privileges available
