Job Summary:Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and JVM‑based technologiesContribute production‑quality code with a focus on scalability, performance, security, and reliabilityCollaborate with senior engineers to evolve service architecture, APIs, and data modelsParticipate in code reviews, testing, and operational readiness to ensure high code qualityWork within a modern DevOps environment, contributing to CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and operational supportHelp deliver features iteratively, incorporating feedback and continuously improving the platformLearn and apply new technologies, including AI‑enabled capabilities, as they relate to media servicing workflowsAs a Software Engineer II you will be part of a team that builds and maintains complex systems for managing the fulfillment and ordering of content for Disney’s supply chain, from order creation to title delivery on DTC platforms. Someone who can provide a fresh perspective and innovative insight into our initiatives.Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:Provide technical guidance and evangelize best practices.Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our core systems and how they interact with upstream and downstream dependencies.Contribute and review code, set standards, and work with engineers to ensure product and design specifications are metResponsible for fundamental platform performance, scalability, and resiliencyPartner with stakeholders to refine requirements, and propose solutions to problems that span multiple teamsContribute to cross-functional troubleshooting of complex issues as neededRequired Education, Experience/Skills/Training:Basic Qualifications 3+ years of professional experience building backend or full‑stack web applicationsStrong experience with Java / Java EE / JVM‑based languagesSolid understanding of RESTful API design and service‑oriented architecturesExperience working with document‑based or NoSQL data storesFamiliarity with building and supporting highly available, secure, and performant systemsExperience collaborating in an agile, team‑based development environment3+ years relevant industry experiencePreferred / Nice to HaveExposure to cloud‑native development (AWS or similar)Experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD, logging, monitoring, or infrastructure‑as‑codeInterest in or exposure to AI/ML‑assisted features, automation, or data‑driven systemsExperience working on platforms that process large files, workflows, or asynchronous jobsRequired Education BS Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalentThe hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA & Bristol, CT is $117,500 - $157,500. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
