Product Development EngineerYou'll be joining a business that works behind the scenes of some pretty advanced industries—semiconductors and optics. In simple terms, they make ultra-pure ceramic materials that keep high-tech manufacturing running smoothly. This role sits right at the heart of that. You'll take ideas from concept through to production—turning technical know-how into real, working products. Not just drawings on a screen, but parts that meet tight specs and actually perform in the real world.This isn't a "watch from the sidelines" engineering role. You'll manage product development projects end-to-end—designing, testing, refining, and getting products into production. One day you're working on design specs and CAD models. The next, you're troubleshooting a process issue on the shop floor or working with suppliers to get materials just right.What you'll be doing:Run product development projects from concept through to production (and everything in between)Create and manage design plans—covering product specs, processes, and inspectionsWork with suppliers to source materials, components, and equipmentCarry out design verification (testing, inspections, FAI, FMEA, control plans)Lead new product introduction (NPI), including documentation and operator trainingBuild and manage project plans, timelines, and risksKeep projects on track—delivering on time and within cost expectationsCollaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to solve real problemsSupport process improvements, cost reductions, and new ideas for the pipelineAct as a technical go-to for production and quality teamsJoin customer discussions when needed (sometimes explaining the "why" behind the design)About you / what you'll bring:A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or something similarAround 1–3 years' experience in manufacturing, materials, or product developmentExperience working with technical drawings, specs, and manufacturing processesConfidence managing projects—not just contributing to themStrong communication skills—you can explain technical details without making it confusingComfortable working cross-functionally (and occasionally chasing people for updates)Solid Excel/Microsoft Office skills; exposure to CAD (e.g., SolidWorks) helpsA practical mindset—you like solving problems, not just documenting themNice to have:Experience with ceramics, CVD processes, or advanced materialsFamiliarity with semiconductor or optical manufacturingExposure to quality tools (FMEA, control plans, etc.)Understanding of regulated environments (ITAR/EAR)What you'll get:A hands-on engineering role where your work actually makes it to productionExposure to high-tech industries and advanced materialsA mix of design, manufacturing, and problem-solving—keeps things interestingOpportunities to work across teams and with global colleaguesStandard benefits package and the chance to grow your engineering careerIf you enjoy taking ideas and turning them into something real—and you're happy getting stuck into both design and production—this could be a good fit.Morgan Advanced Materials is an EEO/AA/M/W/D/V Employer.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions of this job.
