Job Summary

The hours for the Shuttle Bus Driver position are Monday-Friday from 2:30pm to 6:30pm. Responsible for operating a shuttle bus and/or passenger coach-type vehicle. Reports to the Supervisor of Transportation (or to a designated individual in the Supervisor's absence). Does this position require patient care? No.

Essential Functions

• Provide safe, courteous, and professional service to passengers while on route to/from destinations.
• Follow established routes and departure times. Communicates with dispatch for guidance on any detours/delays.
• Operates vehicles in accordance with Mass General Brigham Fleet Safety Program Policies and Procedures, as well as in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Ensures adherence to passenger limits for both seated and standing passengers.
• Assists passengers with disabilities and others needing assistance in boarding and disembarking from the vehicle via the wheelchair lift.
• Reports any emergencies/concerns with the vehicle and/or passengers immediately to the Supervisor and/or Dispatcher.
• Safely transports passengers to various destinations while adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
• Adheres to assignments in accordance with scheduled shuttle routes prepared by the Manager, Supervisor, and/or Dispatcher.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes.

Licenses and Credentials: MGH Security RMV Check/Registry of Motor Vehicles Driving Report - MGB Internal required.

Experience: Proven experience as a shuttle bus driver 1-2 years required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent driving skills for shuttle buses and coach-type vehicles with the ability to navigate various road and weather conditions safely. Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation. Great improvisational skills. Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance procedures. Excellent customer service skills.
