Group Counselor

TranscendED is seeking a compassionate and conscientious group counselor at our Matthews location 28105. We are seeking a clinically skilled Group Counselor to join our treatment team serving clients at our Monroe Residential Treatment Center. The ideal candidate is experienced in facilitating groups and is passionate about supporting individuals in behavioral health and eating disorder recovery. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Contribute to the overall well-being of clients by serving as a positive role model - demonstrating appropriate dress, grooming, communication, and professional behavior in a warm and supportive manner. Provide consistent, day-to-day guidance and encouragement in alignment with therapeutic goals to support the implementation of each client's treatment plan. Facilitate and actively engage clients in therapeutic groups focused on coping skills, relapse prevention, DBT, education, and life skills development. Communicate relevant observations and client progress with the treatment team to support coordinated, client-centered care. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all client information and program-related matters. Participate in meal support therapy (MST) with clients to model dietary behaviors and support a positive eating environment. Ensure the treatment environment remains welcoming, clean, and organized at all times. Attend all required trainings, educational sessions, and staff development activities. Perform other duties as assigned in support of program goals and client care. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree required; a degree in psychology, social work, education, or a related field is strongly preferred. One year experience with behavioral health, experience with eating disorder setting or group home preferred. Must possess a valid and active North Carolina Driver's license.
