Buyer Associate - Entry Level

Ferguson Industrial is seeking a Buyer Associate to support procurement activities and deliver excellent customer service while working on-site with a collaborative team at our customer location in Hobart, NY. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career or looking to transition into a purchasing role—no extensive buying experience required. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual who is eager to learn, takes initiative, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. Responsibilities: Assist with day-to-day purchasing and procurement tasks Monitor inventory and manage product shortages Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to support order needs Help process purchase orders and track order status Expedite orders and follow up on deliveries Support basic reporting and data analysis related to inventory and usage Assist with resolving invoice discrepancies and freight billing questions Maintain accurate product and order information in systems Research product specifications when needed Provide support in resolving customer and supplier inquiries Qualifications: Interest in supply chain, purchasing, or operations (prior experience is helpful but not required) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to follow processes and learn new systems quickly Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) Strong communication and customer service skills Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic Nice to Have (Not Required): Any exposure to procurement, inventory, or warehouse environments Familiarity with manufacturing or MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) products At Ferguson, we care for each other.
