Job Overview We’re growing fast and looking for a Phlebotomist 1 to join Octapharma Plasma. This role provides learning and career development opportunities throughout our donation centers. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (FDA, OSHA, CLIA, GMP) to maintain highest production standards. Maintain high level of customer service and positive donor experience in line with company values. Maintain cleanliness of work area for a professional environment. Review and confirm donor identification and maintain donor confidentiality per SOP. Set up and prepare equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures. Label each unit and sample accurately. Execute venipunctures and plasma collection while maintaining quality and safety standards. Operate automated plasmapheresis machines, respond to alarms, assess donor adverse events, document exceptions, etc. Monitor donor conditions to ensure comfort, safety, and product quality. Maintain proper ratio and safety protocols; disconnect donor and dispose of biohazard waste per protocols. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly calibration/maintenance on automated machines; remove and replace equipment as needed. Maintain accurate documentation of necessary records, including plasmapheresis machine logs. Report all unsafe situations and conditions to management. Maintain/stocks adequate inventory and replenish supplies on plasma carts. Drive training efficiencies to ensure timeliness and compliance. Troubleshoot machine alarms and perform QC routines on equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. State licensing or certification as required. Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health care environment, or equivalent education/experience. Completion of training documentation prior to independent duties. Strong customer service skills. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocols. Basic computer knowledge and skills. Accurate and complete documentation skills. Ability to read and interpret safety regulations and procedure manuals. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions. Consistency and reliability (good attendance, punctuality). Availability to work daytime, evening, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as required. Venipuncture competency. Effective communication skills. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to 35 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel. Use of PPE as required. Occupational exposure to blood‑borne pathogens. Ability to view a video display terminal within 18 inches of face for extended periods. Ability to work up to four hours at a time in a temperature of -40 °C per SOP. Perform precise tasks requiring small motor skills (e.g., drawing blood).
