Assistant City Manager - City of Tracy, California The City of Tracy is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and emotionally intelligent municipal leader to serve as its next Assistant City Manager. The position serves as a strategic partner to the City Manager and plays a critical role in advancing organizational alignment, strengthening culture, and addressing operational challenges across the organization. Tracy is navigating significant initiatives that will shape the community for decades to come, including continued economic development efforts and a comprehensive General Plan update. The City Manager and executive team are intentionally fostering an environment centered on transparency, collaboration, continuous improvement, and pride in public service. The City seeks a broadly experienced municipal leader who brings sound judgment, political awareness, and exceptional relationship-building skills. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable with operational problem-solving, strategic thinking, and Council-facing responsibilities. The annual salary is $268,285–$287,732 , with scheduled 4% increases through 2028, plus an excellent executive benefits package.
