Front Desk Agent

Job Summary Welcomes guests to the resort and provides assistance with all aspects of lodging accommodations. Meets the needs of guests staying at The Village. Applicants must be 18 years of age. Compensation The base hourly pay range for this position is $18.00 – $25.92 per hour. Actual pay may vary above or below the range based on experience, education, training, location, merit, production, responsibilities, and travel. The range is one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s total compensation package. Benefits Free skiing and riding privileges to 17 iconic resorts including Palisades Tahoe, Mammoth Mountain, Steamboat, Solitude and more Healthcare options for seasonal and year‑round employees Generous discounts on outdoor gear, apparel, etc. 401(k) plan with generous company match Free lift tickets and 50% off additional tickets 25%‑50% discount at Food & Beverage locations at Palisades & Alpine 40% discount at Palisades Tahoe operated retail stores, including The North Face, Patagonia, Oakley, and more Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Responsibilities Greet each guest who enters the Lodging Reception Center, answer phone calls, and provide accurate responses to all questions Book reservations, respond to emails and electronic reservations, check in new guests, check out guests, and provide any necessary services to ensure customer satisfaction Review lodging transactions daily to ensure accurate and timely revenue and expense recording Set up all aspects of the Front Desk for night auditors and pass along important issues to front desk staff during shift changes Aid guests with questions about calling businesses (e.g., taxis, theaters, airlines, car rentals) Use computer systems to perform all check‑in and check‑out functions Participate in the sales culture of the front desk by booking walk‑ins, upselling reservations, and taking advantage of promotional products offered at the front desk Accountable for monies received at the Front Desk and responsible for turning in all monies to accounting Use computer systems to prepare and send backup to credit card company Run all necessary reports and programs to ensure a successful end of day Maintain a guest‑friendly atmosphere with music and a neat work environment Utilize checklists to ensure that all job functions are completed Follow procedures and coordinate efforts with Security during any emergency (power outage, fire, etc.) Maintain a neat and professional appearance; must wear proper uniform while on duty Assist new employees in learning job functions Competencies and Job Requirements Good computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Able to work with little or no supervision Maintain the highest levels of professionalism and work well under stressful situations Effective communication skills, oral & written Strong sense of customer service and safety awareness Understand and follow verbal and written instructions Have a neat & clean appearance in compliance with company grooming standards Punctual and able to report at scheduled start time Work well as part of a team Education and Experience Required: High School Diploma or GED Preferred: College degree Experience working at a hotel/resort Front Desk Physical Requirements The employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must walk or stand 90% or more of a normal 8‑hour shift and be capable of carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions Indoor/outdoor work in a low‑noise environment. No hazardous materials. Employees may be exposed to indoor environments and varying outdoor weather conditions while performing job duties.
