Billing Specialist

The Billing Specialist will support the organization's accounts receivable process by representing claims for payment to the appropriate payer. Billing Specialist will also perform medical collections and invoicing to patients, providers and medical facilities.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• One to two years reimbursement, insurance or related work experience in healthcare setting preferred
• Knowledge of electronic billing and submission process
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

We are seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to support a healthcare organization's revenue cycle operations. In this role, you will be responsible for processing medical insurance claims, posting payments, resolving denied claims, and ensuring timely reimbursement from third-party payers. The ideal candidate will have recent experience working with medical billing, insurance claims, and EMR systems, along with a strong understanding of CPT, ICD diagnosis, modifier, and taxonomy coding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Submit and process third-party medical insurance claims through the EMR system
• Post insurance payments, reimbursements, and adjustments
• Investigate, correct, and resubmit denied or rejected claims
• Follow up on outstanding claims and billing discrepancies
• Perform medical collections and communicate with payers, providers, and patients
• Generate invoices and financial reports
• Maintain compliance with billing regulations and organizational policies

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience processing medical claims and posting payments in an EMR
• Strong knowledge of CPT codes, diagnosis codes (ICD), modifiers, and taxonomy codes
• Experience with electronic billing and claims submission processes
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Assignment Details:

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Hours: 40 per week
• Start Date: ASAP
• Client Interview Required
