Bring your expertise as a school-based Physical Therapist to an engaging contract opportunity near Joliet, IL. This role is ideal for dedicated professionals who thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about supporting students in maximizing their physical independence within school settings. The assignment spans several schools serving a diverse caseload of 35–45 students across both general and specialized education programs. Both full-time and part-time applications are welcome.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy (MPT or DPT required)
- Current Illinois Physical Therapy License
- Previous experience providing PT services in school settings preferred
- Ability to manage a caseload spanning elementary through transition-aged students
- Strong communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with educators, paraprofessionals, therapists, and nurses
Primary Responsibilities:
- Travel between multiple school sites to deliver in-person physical therapy services
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Implement therapy sessions focused on enhancing students’ functional mobility and participation in academic settings
- Train staff on safe use of positioning and mobility equipment
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation, including daily notes, progress reports, goal setting, and updates
- Actively collaborate with the educational team to optimize student outcomes
This contract assignment provides the opportunity to interact with students in various settings from August 24, 2026, to June 7, 2027. Working hours average 37.5 per week, Monday through Friday, with start times that align with school schedules (between 7:30 and 8:30 am).
