Physical Security Estimator Location: Plymouth, MN, United States Job Type: Full-Time Department: Project Delivery Description: The Physical Security Estimator will support Account Executives and Account Managers with preconstruction services including preparation of estimates, proposal and bid reviews, document reviews, cost value analysis, and other cost and system evaluations in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements. About the Position: Responsible for assisting with preconstruction services; preparing estimates, reviewing bids, analyzing costs, surveying job sites, preparing estimate documents, ensuring compliance, and reducing material buyout risk. Works with senior estimators, purchasing, design departments, and mentors colleagues. Applies LEAN principles and promotes company values. Core Responsibilities Plan and monitor estimating activities of each project for quality and accuracy. Review bid documents and work with account managers and chief estimator to determine cost variables. Use estimating software to produce accurate estimates. Survey job sites to determine scope and cost-effective solutions. Compose estimate documents professionally. Assist in procurement, proposal writing for RFPs, bids, and related reports. Ensure estimates and RFPs meet customer and company conditions. Coordinate with purchasing to reduce material buyout risk; work with design teams on design‑build and design‑assist projects. Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to co‑workers. Make decisions safely to protect health. Apply LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methods. Minimum Qualifications 1-5 years of physical security estimating experience; knowledge of video management, access control, intrusion, video intercom preferred. Experience reading and interpreting plans, drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Basic training or experience in project management and an understanding of the project lifecycle. Superior analytical and mathematical skills, conceptual estimating, and critical thinking. Field or estimating experience in physical security settings preferred. Knowledge of Bluebeam, Accubid, Microsoft Suite a plus. Travel Occasional travel may be required. Salary Estimated range: $68,000–$83,900 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
