INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST – INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOVASCULAR TECHNOLOGIST Harborview Medical Center – Radiology offers an opportunity to work with a seasoned team performing complex interventional procedures, including angioplasties, embolization, chemotherapy treatments, and intracranial interventions. WORK SCHEDULE Rotating/Variable Shift POSITION HIGHLIGHTS Under general direction from the Imaging Lead and/or Imaging Supervisor, perform complex technical procedures and assist physicians during clinical and research examinations such as angioplasties, embolization, chemotherapy treatments, and intracranial procedures. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Independently perform and assist physicians with all vascular procedures in body, neuro, and cardiac – including Embolization, Angioplasty, Drug Infusions, Stent and Filter placements, and Pressure measurements. Participate in diagnostic interventional angiograms; monitor patient vital signs and conditions during examinations; perform CPR if necessary. Operate PACS, MacLab, IntelliShelf/MPOUS, Hospital Information System, and the Radiology Information System; print and retrieve images; implement downtime procedures as needed. Assist in training new angiography technologists and residents; participate in formal training programs for residents, fellows, and student technologists. Prepare patients for examination: explain the procedure, obtain signed consent, and prepare the access area with sterile technique. Perform or assist with angiography procedures outside the angiography suite, such as the Operating Room using the OEC C-arm and Procedure Room 1. Provide the appropriate education to patients and their families prior to and after the radiology procedure. REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Associate of Arts (AA) degree from an accredited radiologic technologist program AND registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) AND licensure by the State of Washington as a radiologic technologist (RT).
