For more information, please visit SHIFT: Sunday - Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm THE ROLE: The Laboratory Technician III assists with the setup, support and execution of the daily activities of the laboratory. In addition, the Laboratory Technician III will have the technical training and experience required to perform clinical laboratory testing (i.e., test specimen receipt through test result generation) using standard in-vitro laboratory techniques. Lab Technician III personnel are expected to be highly skilled users of the LIMS systems and to contribute to input and design reviews. The position also works in a cross-functional matrix organization, including Product Development Core Teams and across departments including Customer Service, Finance/Accounting, Quality, the Laboratory Directors, Business Development, CDMA, and other departments as needed. Troubleshooting, data analysis, and report creation are key responsibilities for this position. The Laboratory Technician III will be skilled in the use of the Quality Management System for document management and reviews. Ongoing training will be provided to supplement the key skills required to perform the functions of this position as applicable. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Completes training and Competency Assessment for all new and existing procedures Takes responsibility for completing continuing education (CE) requirements set by applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies Performs all test realization functions in support of Biodesix products and services Perform duties in line with established SOPs Performs some troubleshooting and documents corrective actions thoroughly Enters appropriate data into LIMS with accuracy Uploads appropriate data to the Customer Service team Performs and may schedule laboratory equipment maintenance, including calibration and preventative maintenance, following SOPs Contributes to the creation and revision of Laboratory SOPs, Protocols and Reports in the Quality Management System (QMS) Contributes to the Internal Audit readiness through good documentation practices Performs all job functions in accordance with HIPAA Contributes to Development projects, as needed, and maintains appropriate documentation within an assigned laboratory notebook Communicates effectively with on-site and remotely located management/support teams May supervise new employees onboarding WHAT YOU'LL BRING: Self-motivated, works independently and has exceptional written and verbal skills Outstanding technical laboratory skills Participates in CE program Knowledge of lab safety Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to thoroughness and error-free execution of procedures Exceptional organizational and documentation skills Basic computer skills required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to work well as an individual and as a team member Strong work ethic Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology; OR Equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined by CAP, CLIA, NYS CLEP Significant experience (e.g., 4 years) in a high complexity testing laboratory, HPLC, LC-MS and/or ELISA preferred Technical level (I/II/III) will be benchmarked based on laboratory experience, technical competency, and ability to work independently WHAT YOU'LL GET: Base Salary of $35 per hour Discretionary Bonus opportunity Comprehensive health coverage: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance: Short/Long Term Disability and Life Insurance Financial benefits: 401(k), Flex Spending Account 120 hours of annual vacation 72 hours of paid sick time off 11 paid holidays + 3 floating holidays Employee Assistance Program Voluntary Benefits Employee recognition program Biodesix is an equal opportunity employer.
