Delaware Valley Job Corps is an education and training center located in Callicoon, NY. We are a center which uses student-focused programs to ensure successful training and employment placement for each individual we serve. With a capacity of 208 students, we strive to achieve excellence for each student. We are looking for exceptional employees to join our team of professionals to shape the lives of our 16–24 year old students who are pursuing the Job Corps program. Responsibilities Responsible for assisting in the preparation of food and beverages for consumption by students. Assist in kitchen clean-up to facilitate sanitizing of all food service areas. Provide supervision and training to Job Corps' Work-Based Learning students assigned to the department. Assist in the preparation and presentation of quality food. Render good customer service skills and engage young adults. Assist in kitchen clean-up, washing dishes, cleaning and sanitizing the food preparation area to ensure sanitation and cleanliness of all food service areas. Transport finished meals from preparation area to serving line. Keep serving counters stocked with prepared food. Produce quality work in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner. Maintain appropriate personal attendance, accountability, and work productivity standards. Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines. Understand and apply job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities; proactively maintain the skills required to perform job duties. Mentor, monitor, and model the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH. Provide high-quality supervision and management for the student population; take swift and appropriate action and positively influence student behavior. Show respect and courtesy to students and hold them accountable for their actions and behavior. Provide quality services for students and ensure that quality is maintained and student needs are met; pursue improvement and enhancement of requisite services. Exchange ideas and information, both orally and in writing, clearly and concisely, and contribute meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge. Provide quality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested, and effectively articulate thoughts and ideas. Identify problems, analyze causes, and evaluate appropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions; follow up to ensure prompt action and that problems are corrected. Work in partnership with staff from all departments.
