CNC Setup OperatorLocation: Hamilton, OH 45015Pay Rate: $22-$24/hr.Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PMJob OverviewOur client is seeking a CNC Setup Operator for a 1st shift, contract-to-hire position in Hamilton, OH. This role is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes and mills to produce high-quality, high-volume parts safely and efficiently. Candidates must have dedicated CNC setup experience to be considered for this position.Job SpecificationsDuties and Responsibilities:Set up and operate any and all CNC lathes and mills in a safe and efficient manner.Call up programs and set-up tooling for CNC lathes.Edit CNC lathe programs, as necessary.Measure parts and make tool corrections as the CNC lathe runs production.Instruct less skilled employees in the operation or set up of any CNC lathes and mills.Perform inspections of parts using precision measuring instruments.Perform daily upkeep and routine maintenance, keeping equipment and production area in good order.Ensure that the correct cutting insert is used for the type of material.Follow written and/or verbal instructions from production supervisors.Produce 100% high-quality, high-volume parts, with an emphasis on reducing cycle time.Ensure that all parts are cleaned, counted, deburred, assembled, and handled properly.Comply with and support all aspects of the company's quality management program.Inventory and document tooling and inserts.Skills and Experience:Technical College or Equivalent Experience preferred.1+ years of experience operating, setting up, and programming CNC mills and manual milling equipment.Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and product specifications.Ability to use gages and measuring instruments such as micrometer calipers, etc.Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel within the operation.Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects (assist-lift up to 35 lbs.).Ability to perform simple arithmetic and understand written/verbal instructions.Reading, math, and communication skills equivalent to a high school education and one or more years of related experience.Preferred Skills & Qualifications:Language Skills: Good communication skills; ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts.Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, exercise good judgment, and interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.Computer/Other Skills: Detail-oriented, organized, and driven to meet deadlines and work under pressure.Core Competencies: Customer Focus, Business Knowledge, Integrity & Ethics, Results Drive / Initiative, Communications, Professional Maturity, and Empowers Others.Benefits: Health insurance Health savings account Dental insurance Vision insurance Flexible spending accounts Life insurance Retirement plan All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
