Registered Nurse (RN)

Education and Work Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
• Acute care facility experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per policy: Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per policy: Required

Department Specific License/Certifications:

• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale: Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per policy: Required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor per policy: Required
• Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or TEAM-A or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI): Required

Essential Functions

• Collects relevant data pertaining to the patient's health or situation and analyzes this data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
• Develops a care plan that prescribes interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
• Implements the care plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment.
• Evaluates the patient's progress towards achieving outcomes and identifies future care needs.
• Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare providers to deliver patient care in a safe, healing, and supportive environment.
• Provides educational opportunities for patients, family members, and team members directly involved in care.
• Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegates tasks appropriately and coordinates the duties of healthcare team members.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
