Overview Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Full‑time Cook for the Food Service Department in Norfolk, VA. Shift/Hours Full‑time, 40 hours per week, rotating 8‑hour shifts (4 a.m. to 8 p.m.). Up to $2,000 sign‑on bonus for qualified candidates. Responsibilities Prepare all hot foods for patient trayline, café, and functions, including entrees, vegetables, starches, and bakery items. Provide food service operations for patients, guests, and staff. PACE specific incumbents require a minimum of one year of experience working with frail or elderly populations. Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent (preferred). Food Handlers Card or equivalent certification (required). Less than one year cook experience (required). Less than one year food service experience (required). Restaurant or hospital cook experience (preferred). Experience with frail or elderly populations.
