Job Title: RN - OR Circulator Profession: RN Specialty: OR Circulator Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Shift, 4 x 10s, M - F Hours per Shift: 0630 to 1700 or 0830 to 1900 Experience: Minimum one year of previous full-time experience in the operating room is required. License: Current RN license in state of practice is required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor is required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor is preferred. Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) is preferred. Must-Have: Competency to circulate in the Operating Room during surgical procedures. Knowledge of and consistent application of the principles of aseptic technique. Ability to safely operate all equipment routinely utilized in the Operating Room. Expertise in preparing patients for surgery, including safe anatomical positioning. Description: Assists surgeons and anesthesiologists and coordinates the flow of equipment, supplies, and staff during surgical procedures. Ensures patient safety throughout the perioperative phase of care. Participates in patient care planning, assessment, and nursing treatment. Competently performs pre, intra, and post-procedure patient care planning and assessment. Safely handles and disposes of biohazardous materials from operative procedures. Accesses facility information systems to retrieve and utilize pertinent information for patient care. Demonstrates knowledge and skills related to patient safety, emergency preparedness, and control of hazardous materials. Documents temperature of tissue/allografts and verifies package integrity according to guidelines. Efficiently utilizes downtime for job-related tasks. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
