Skills: Energetic, friendly, food production, operational excellence, cleanliness, guest service Job Summary The Cook is responsible for ensuring the quality, quantity, tastiness, and freshness of all Hot Choice Buffet products at Golden Corral. The Cook must pay special attention to speed, cleanliness, organization, and product specifications to ensure that guests have an enjoyable dining experience. Key Responsibilities Prepare Hot Choice Buffet products, including Carving and Display Cooking products, according to Golden Corral recipes and procedures Grill all items according to Golden Corral standards to ensure quality Ensure that every fried product is always fresh and hot Restock items at the Display Cooking Station if the Buffet Attendant is unavailable Assist guests with carved meat options if the Carver is unavailable Maintain the correct temperature of all products during cooking, holding, and serving Use the Hot Choice Buffet Production Guide and the Display Cooking Hot Cook Production Guide to maintain an inventory of all hot cook products Conduct opening and closing administrative procedures Properly maintain equipment according to the Equipment Maintenance manual Restock and rotate food products by using the first-in, first-out method (FIFO) Take inventory of products and check build-to with the Manager at the beginning and end of each shift Ensure that the Hot Cook area and all smallwares are clean and check dishes for cleanliness before using them Perform duty roster and ensure cleanliness, service, and quality standards are met Follow local health department laws Keep Char Grill clean and scraped to ensure product quality and sanitation Ensure that Hot Choice Buffet products, including Display Cooking products, are always hot and fresh for the guests Know and follow position responsibilities as they relate to just-in-time delivery Be friendly and courteous to guests and assist them with the products Maintain professional communication at all times Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
