Capistrano Auto is seeking an experienced   DMV Title Clerk to join our dealership accounting team. We are looking for someone with hands-on dealership DMV experience who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced automotive environment with great customer service and a positive attitude. 

This position is responsible for processing California DMV paperwork, supporting the accounting department, and working closely with our Sales and Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely vehicle registrations and deal processing.

Pay Scale : Wages include Base Hourly Compensation between  $25.00–$30.00 per hour (based on experience) 

Responsibilities

• Process new and used vehicle registrations, title transfers, and DMV applications in accordance with California DMV regulations.
• Submit electronic and paper DMV transactions accurately and on time.
• Review contracts and deal jackets for completeness and DMV compliance.
• Follow up on outstanding titles, registration issues, and DMV discrepancies.
• Reconcile DMV fees collected with amounts submitted.
• Assist with dealership accounting functions, including reconciliation of schedules and management of new and used vehicle inventory.
• Work closely with the Sales, Finance, and Accounting departments to ensure deals are processed accurately and efficiently.
• Various other automotive accounting including posting of sales contracts, posting of EFT payments, and reconciliation of various schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of dealership DMV experience is required. Applicants without dealership experience will not be considered.

• Strong knowledge of DMV title, registration, and licensing procedures.

• Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Preffered

• Two or more years of California dealership DMV experience.

• Automotive dealership accounting experience.

• Experience using  CDK Dealer Management System .

• Experience with  DMV BPA Registration Systems.
