Survey Crew Chief

Job Summary SEH is looking for a Survey Crew Chief to join our Geospatial Data Services team. The role involves leading field survey operations across the Western Slope, focusing on the Grand Junction to Glenwood corridor and surrounding areas. Responsibilities Perform Control, Boundary, and Topographic Surveys Prepare Right-of-Way (ROW) plans Operate Trimble data collectors, drones, and 3D scanning technology Ensure accurate field data collection and quality assurance Coordinate field activities, schedules, and equipment logistics Communicate findings and reports to project stakeholders Required Qualifications Previous survey experience, including field work High school diploma or GED Experience with AutoCAD Ability to work 10-12 hour days in remote or rural settings Ability to work outdoors in variable conditions Willingness to travel out of town as needed Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record that meets SEH’s Driving Program requirements Authorised to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of CDOT procedures and standards, including ROW plan production Proficiency with Trimble GPS, robotic total stations, and Trimble Business Center Understanding of horizontal/vertical datums and coordinate systems Strong communication skills and attention to detail Strong math skills Other Requirements Restricted to candidates not residing in AK, AR, CA, CT, DE, HI, KY, MA, RI, VT, or PR at this time; relocation is acceptable if specified Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check according to SEH’s standards Benefits Competitive base compensation ranging from $28,000 to $40,000 (dependent on experience and skill set) Work/life balance support with flexible holidays and paid family leave Opportunities for career development through education and certification programs Full benefits package available (details upon request) Equal Opportunity Employer SEH is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
