Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Location Bay City, MI Schedule / Job Type Contract | Days | Onsite Key Responsibilities Continuously monitor vital signs including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and temperature, as well as the patient's level of consciousness throughout the post-anesthesia recovery period. Ensure a patent airway and adequate respiratory function, intervening promptly in the event of obstruction or respiratory distress. Administer medications such as analgesics, anti-nausea agents, and fluids to effectively manage post-operative symptoms and maintain patient comfort. Assess surgical sites for bleeding or complications, inspect dressings, perform physical assessments, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions when adverse reactions occur. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient condition and care plans. Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of PACU nursing experience (required). Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). Preferred Experience / Skills Experience working in a high-volume acute care hospital setting. Familiarity with a broad range of post-operative patient populations including cardiovascular, orthopedic, oncology, and neuroscience cases.
