Job Overview A law firm seeks an experienced Bankruptcy Associate Attorney to join its Des Moines, Iowa office. The successful candidate will represent clients in bankruptcy and creditors' rights matters, providing expert legal advice and managing cases independently while collaborating with a dynamic team. Duties Represent creditors, lenders, and businesses in bankruptcy and creditors' rights matters. Handle bankruptcy, state, and federal court proceedings, including hearings and motions. Manage collection litigation, judgments, and post-judgment enforcement proceedings. Draft legal documents and conduct legal research to develop case strategies. Advise clients on bankruptcy issues such as claims and fraudulent transfers. Engage in commercial litigation involving contract and financial disputes. Communicate directly with clients, offering practical legal advice. Collaborate effectively with partners and other attorneys. Requirements J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Iowa. 3+ years of bankruptcy experience, focusing on creditor representation. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative approach and desire to grow within the practice group. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. Certifications Licensed to practice law in the State of Iowa and in good standing. Skills Experience with bankruptcy court proceedings and collection litigation.
