REGISTERED NURSE (Full Time - Nights )

Position Summary Develops, implements, evaluates and revises a plan of care of assigned patients and families while promoting the mission and values of the Hospital. The provision of care includes direct care along with the delegation and supervision of all nursing care in accordance with the applicable Nurse Practice Act. Specific components of the Registered Nurse role include demonstrating clinical competence; managing patient care; improving quality of care; establishing professional relationships and utilizing professional skills; fulfilling responsibilities of the role of the hospital; and developing clinical expertise per specialty. Shift Full Time, Night Shift 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Demonstrate honesty and integrity at all times in the care and use of patient and hospital property. Respond to the needs of patients by complying with hospital policies. Interact tactfully with facility staff, Administration, patients, families, customers, vendors, and government agencies. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Access continuing education opportunities appropriate to responsibilities. Routinely share professional knowledge with staff, managers, and hospital personnel. Attend and participate in facility meetings. Know emergency and disaster procedures of the facility. Participate in hospital-wide patient safety program, identifying risks and reducing errors. Participate in relevant in-service training sessions. Perform other duties as assigned. Promotes and protects patients’ rights; treats patients with dignity and respect; reports suspected abuse or neglect. Applies hand‑washing principles; understands isolation precautions; recognizes signs and symptoms of infection; complies with the employee health program; understands the process for identifying and handling infectious waste; maintains personal hygiene; complies with OSHA standards; demonstrates understanding of cross‑contamination; complies with applicable health screenings. Enters or records data timely and accurately; protects confidentiality of patient information; protects data against loss or destruction; reports suspected violations of security or confidentiality. Demonstrates active listening techniques; gains support through effective relationships; seeks feedback; participates in processes to measure effectiveness, efficiency, and service; maintains reporting mechanisms. Attends in‑service and education programs; attends continuing education required for maintenance of certification/licensure. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; stress is identified as a job hazard resulting from a hectic environment with frequent interruptions. Qualifications Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment required. Current BLS certification required. ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire. Previous acute care experience is strongly preferred. Ability to project a professional image. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements. Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills. Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions. English is the primary language of the facility. Ability to read and write, communicate clearly with co‑workers and customers, and respond to appropriate questions regarding work process or product. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and/or diagram form. Ability to define and solve problems and collect data. Regular and punctual attendance. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment required.
