Day Shift Slice Grinder Operator

Bongards is looking for an energetic, motivated and dedicated individual to join our day shift production team as a Slice Line Grinder Operator. The grinder operator is responsible for maintaining a constant supply of cheese for the assigned line. Job duties: Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practice protocols for PPE and Cleanliness (Handwashing, Uniform, Tools, etc) Able to react quickly to resolve unforeseen issues Opening of all barrels and blocks of cheese needed for the production run. Recording of weight and other pertinent information. Verifying cheese is clean before going to the grinder. Operation of the grinder. Communicate with the blend set‑up, cooker operator and lead. Work in a safe and proficient manner (Lockout/Tagout of grinder) Cleaning and Sanitizing of machines, all work areas after production is finished Keep work area neat, clean and organized Work in a safe, efficient manner in a fast paced team environment Must report all food safety and quality concerns to immediate supervisor or their designated replacement Skills and Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent Excellent Math, Reading and Writing skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines Ability to work independently on assigned duties Adaptable to sudden changes and willing to learn new skills Knowledge of HMI screens, computers, and PIT is a plus Be a dependable member of a team Ability to work in Cold and Warm environments Mechanical aptitude Must adhere to and follow all Safety, GMP, other quality guidelines Must report all food safety problems to immediate supervisor or designated replacement Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs Schedule: Day Shift 5:30am to 6:00pm Monday – Friday, frequent Saturdays Paid time off (PTO) 401(k) with company match Disability, life and voluntary insurance Employee Assistance Program Profit Sharing Internal Career Opportunities Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
