Patient Service Representative – Norwood & Norfolk Locations

Eye Care Specialists is seeking a friendly, dependable, and organized Patient Service Representative to join our team. This position will work at both our Norwood and Norfolk locations and will include a combination of front desk and call center responsibilities .

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide a welcoming, professional experience
• Check patients in and out for appointments
• Answer a high volume of incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments
• Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, office locations, and general practice information
• Route calls and patient messages to the appropriate provider or department
• Make outbound calls as needed for appointment scheduling, confirmations, and follow-up
• Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information
• Collect copayments and patient balances
• Assist with referrals and insurance-related information
• Document patient calls and messages accurately in the electronic medical record
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, clinical staff, and other departments
• Help manage incoming patient requests and ensure messages are handled in a timely manner
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
• Assist with additional front desk and administrative duties as needed

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service, telephone, and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of calls and patient requests
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office environment
• Dependable, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong computer and data-entry skills
• Previous medical office, call center, scheduling, or receptionist experience is preferred but not required
• Experience with electronic medical records, insurance verification, and medical terminology is a plus
