Maintenance Mechanic Opportunity

Primary Staffing is hiring a hands-on and dependable Maintenance Mechanic to support manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for keeping production equipment operating safely, efficiently, and reliably through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repairs, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable troubleshooting equipment, and interested in identifying and preventing problems before they lead to equipment breakdowns. Starting pay is $21.00/hour, including candidates with no previous maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic PLC-controlled equipment.
• Troubleshoot machine alarms, error codes, and production issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Perform machine start-up, setup, shutdown, and service-mode procedures.
• Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

• Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
• Inspect, clean, lubricate, adjust, and replace worn or failing components.
• Identify early signs of equipment failure and take corrective action.
• Follow manufacturer maintenance standards and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.

Production Support

• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
• Support production and assembly operations as needed.
• Work across different departments and facilities when required.
• Communicate effectively with production, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams.

Parts & Inventory

• Track maintenance supplies, consumables, and spare parts.
• Assist with ordering replacement parts.
• Maintain organized maintenance and inventory storage areas.
• Support maintenance tracking systems and accurate documentation.

Requirements

• Fluent English required.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment maintenance.
• Comfortable troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to learn and work with basic PLC-controlled equipment.
• Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and equipment instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Reliable, organized, and safety-focused.
• Able to communicate and work effectively with multiple departments.
• Previous maintenance experience is helpful but not required for starting pay.

PPE Requirements

• PPE is required in all work areas.
• Gloves and safety glasses will be provided.

Schedule & Pay

Starting Pay: $21.00/hour, including candidates with no previous maintenance experience Schedule Options: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM or 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
